The new syllabus of medical entrance exam NEET UG 2024 will be released next week with many chapters reduced. Online application process for NEET UG will start from January 2024. This exam will be held on 5th May next year. Admission to MBBS, BDS, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS), Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine is conducted across the country through NEET UG examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). According to NTA Neat The new UG syllabus has been designed after discussions with the National Medical Commission (NMC) and various education boards of the country. According to a report in The Hindu, the NMC has removed 9 chapters of Chemistry and 6 chapters of Biology from the NEET 2024 syllabus. According to the report, chapters on transport in plants, mineral nutrition, digestion and absorption, reproduction in organisms, strategies for increasing food production, environmental issues have been removed from the bio. While chemistry, state of matter, hydrogen, the s block elements, environment chemistry, the solid state, surface chemistry, general theory and process of separation of elements in everyday life, polymers, chemistry.
It is being said that till NEET UG 2023 a total of 97 chapters of 11th and 12th were being included in PCB, but for NEET UG 2024 a total of 18 chapters have been removed from PCB. Now NEET UG 2024 will ask questions from total 79 chapters including PCB.
Currently, there are 1.04 lakh MBBS seats available for admission in medical colleges across the country. In which there are 54000 seats in government medical colleges. BDS has more than 27800 seats. There are 52700 AYUSH courses and 603 Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry courses.
A record 20.87 lakh students had applied for NEET last year. This number was two lakh more than in 2022. NEET, the entrance exam for admission to medical colleges, carries a total of 720 marks. It has 360 marks of Bio, 180 marks of Physics and 180 marks of Chemistry.
