Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal has created a buzz at the box office and has become a part of the 500 crore club. While on the one hand Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol were much loved in the film, on the other hand Tripti Dimri was also in the limelight. The film also featured Rashmika Mandanna in the role of Geetanjali, but it received mixed reviews from the audience. Before Animal, Sandeep’s film Kabir Singh was also a hit, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. But did you know that Preeti of ‘Kabir Singh’ and Geetanjali of ‘Animal’ were to become Parineeti Chopra. Director Sandeep also gave the reason why what happened, which did not work.
It’s my fault…
Speaking to Komal Nahata, Sandeep Reddy Vanga said, ‘Actually it is my fault. I said, excuse me if possible. I cast Parineeti a year and a half before shooting. But for some reason I didn’t see Geetanjali (Animal’s character later played by Rashmika Mandanna) in Parineeti. Some characters don’t suit some actors. I never believe in auditions, I believe in my instincts.
Parineeti felt bad
Sandeep continued, ‘I loved her acting from day one, I wanted her to play Preeti in Kabir Singh too, but it didn’t happen. So he wanted to do this for a long time. I always wanted to work with him. I apologized to him and explained that nothing is bigger than the film. I want to move on with someone else. Parineeti felt bad but understood.
