In their second match of the Super-4, the Indian team defeated Sri Lanka by 41 runs on the basis of a strong performance by the bowlers. This is the team’s second consecutive win in Super-4. Earlier, India registered a big victory against Pakistan by 228 runs. Indian batsmen could not do anything special against Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan bowlers performed brilliantly on the spin pitch. The Indian team was all out after scoring 213 runs in 49.1 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma scored 53 runs, KL Rahul scored 39 runs and Ishan Kish scored 33 runs. Left arm spinner Dunith Velalge took 5 wickets. All 10 Indian wickets were taken by Sri Lankan spinners. In reply, the Sri Lankan team was bowled out for 172 runs in 41.3 overs. Left arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav once again bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja got 2 wickets each.

Sri Lanka and Pakistan will meet in the Super-4 match on September 14 in Colombo, but according to Accuweather, there is a 93 percent chance of rain on the match day. If the match is called off due to rain then the Pakistan team will be out of the final. Sri Lanka’s net run rate is better than Pakistan’s.

Pakistan won their first Super-4 match against Bangladesh by 7 wickets, but lost to India by 228 runs in the second match. The team has a net run rate of minus 1.892. On the other hand, Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh in the first match while losing to India by 41 runs. His run rate is also minus 0.200, but better than Pakistan. In such a situation, if the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is cancelled, both the teams will get one point each. After this, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will have 3-3 points after 3-3 matches.
