Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra recently opened up about her one-year-old granddaughter Malti Mary Chopra Jonas. In an interview with India Today, Madhu also shared how Priyanka is handling everything after becoming a mother for the first time. Talking about how Priyanka will raise her daughter, Madhu Chopra opened up about sending Priyanka to boarding school and called it the worst decision of her life.

Priyanka on her boarding school experience
In 2021, during an interview with Elle, Priyanka recalled her experience at La Martineer Girls’ Private School in Lucknow, saying that she felt alone when her parents left her there. It’s been years since Priyanka’s parents sent her to boarding school as a child, but Priyanka says she’s still dealing with the trauma that came with the experience.
Priyanka said, “What I clearly remember is the feeling of abandonment – a feeling that lasted for a long time. “I didn’t understand why I was sent away… I didn’t even understand why my mother couldn’t come more often.”
At the time, Priyanka Chopra wondered whether her mother wanted to give more attention to her younger brother Siddharth Chopra or whether her parents had to make this decision because of his tantrums.
