New Delhi. Pakistan cricket team lost the do-or-die match against New Zealand by more than 400 runs due to poor performance by the bowlers. After winning the toss, captain Babar Azam chose to bowl first and New Zealand posted a mammoth score of 401 with the help of Rachin Ravindra’s explosive century and captain Kane Williamson’s 95. For Pakistan who came to chase the target, opener Fakhar Zaman batted brilliantly and scored a century by hitting a six.
In the ICC ODI World Cup being played in India, the Pakistan team faced New Zealand to be in the race for the semi-finals. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. New Zealand’s young Rachin Ravindra and captain Kane Williamson batted brilliantly and made a huge score of 401 runs.
Fakhar’s turbulent century
Chasing the target, Fakhar Zaman scored a brilliant century despite Pakistan being hit first. He completed 50 runs off 39 balls, hitting 4 fours and six sixes. After this he scored a century in just 63 balls while hitting a six in 24 balls. Fakhar Zaman hit 6 fours and a total of 9 sixes to reach 100 runs.
A mighty comeback by Fakhar Zaman
Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman was dropped from the playing eleven by captain Babar Azam due to bad form. He was left out after a flop against the Netherlands in the first match of the World Cup. Fakhar Zaman played an explosive innings of 81 runs on his comeback against Bangladesh. Now chasing the target of 402 runs set by the New Zealand team, he scored a blistering century.
