Stunt master Jolie Bastian dies of heart attack, worked in more than 900 films

Jolly Bastian, the famous stunt master who worked in more than 900 South Indian films, passed away. He died of a heart attack at his home in Bengaluru at the age of 57. Born in the beautiful city of Alleppey, Kerala, Jolie was brought up in Bengaluru and worked mainly in the South Indian film industry. His portfolio of 900 films includes Puthananja, Annaiya, Nattukku Oru Nallavan, Bangalore Days, Crazy Star, Super Ranga, Shailu, Armane, Galipatha, Silence, Overtake (2017), Operation Java (2021) and Oru Cinemakaran (2017). He was also the lead singer in an event management and orchestra group called 24 Events.

Let us tell you that Dulquer Salmaan and Jolly Master have previously worked together in the film ‘Bangalore Days’ in 2014.

Jolly was doing stunts on a bike
Jolie followed in the footsteps of her father and grandfather as a master mechanic and enjoyed doing stunts on heavy bikes. It was then that he became interested in making this style his profession. He started his career as a stuntman at the age of 17 in Ravichandran’s debut film ‘Premloka’ in 1987.

Jolie Bastian got her big break in 1995 as an action director in Ravichandran’s ‘Puthananja’ (Premloka). Jolie is credited with more than 300 high-risk explosion sequences and made her directorial debut in 2013 with ‘Ninagi Kadiruve’. He was also the president of the Karnataka Stunt Directors and Professionals Association and a talented singer who ran the orchestral group ’24 Events’. Despite suffering several injuries throughout her career, Jolie always returned to the set after recovering.
