New Delhi. IPL auction is a platform for cricketers where dreams come true. Where even an unknown cricketer becomes a millionaire in no time. The same happened in the IPL 2024 auction held in Dubai on December 19. Here, two Australian players managed to earn more than 20 crores, while some uncapped players also earned Rs 7-8 crores. But there were more than 25 such players who came hoping for crores of rupees, but the IPL teams did not bet even a penny on them. These are the players who kept their base price above Rs 1 crore. It also includes legends like Steve Smith, Josh Hazlewood.

Nine cricketers like Australia’s Steve Smith, Josh Hazlewood who have increased their base price to Rs. 2 crores that were kept remained unsold. These include Josh Inglis, Adil Rashid, Rasi van der Deusen, James Vince, Shaun Abbott, Jamie Overton and Ben Duckett. None of the 10 IPL franchises bid on these 8 players. Josh Hazlewood’s omission was the most surprising as bowlers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins along with him received more than Rs 20 crore.

Similarly 8 players kept their base price of Rs 1.50 crore, but IPL teams did not bid on any of them. Thus all these also remained unsold. These players are Tim Southee, Jason Holder, James Neesham, Phil Salt, Colin Munro, Daniel Sams, Chris Jordan and Tymal Mills.

9 players, including Kyle Jamison, kept their base price of Rs 1 crore, but the IPL team did not bid on them either.
