In the wedding season, there will be more business of about 1 lakh crore rupees than last time.

Wedding season is starting in India from 23rd November i.e. tomorrow. About 32 lakh weddings took place during the wedding season last year, leading to a business of Rs 3.75 lakh crore across the country. Confederation of All India Traders (CAT) national general secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that this year, we estimate that the wedding season will see a business of around Rs 1 lakh crore more than last time. We collected data by surveying business organizations in 30 cities across the country.

Around 38 lakh wedding events will take place this wedding season. During this period around Rs. 4.74 lakh crore business is estimated. Most of the business is expected to come from purchases of items related to jewellery, food items, catering, banquet halls, electronic goods and other gift items.
Earlier, this was the first Diwali after the Corona crisis, when a record business of Rs 3.75 lakh crore was done. Many weddings were postponed due to Corona. The government also imposed restrictions on gathering of people. In such a situation, traders had to bear heavy losses. But this year saree season is expected to be good for businessman.
