New Delhi: Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan is currently hosting ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’. On a question posed to the contestants during the show, he said an interesting thing related to the song ‘Chahe Koi Muzhe Jungali Kahe’. He revealed how the word ‘Yahoo’ in the iconic track ‘Chahe Koi Muzhe Jungali Keh’ was recorded not by Mohammad Rafi, but by writer Prayag Raj.
Big B welcomed Dilip Mohan Shimpi from Nandurbar, Maharashtra to the hot seat. According to an IANS report, the contestant was asked an audio question for Rs 10,000, ‘What is the first word of this song by Mohammad Rafi?’ Played the song, ‘Even if someone calls me wild.’ The options given to the contestants were: Hooray, Yahoo, Shawa and Chak De. The correct answer was ‘Yahoo’.
The ‘Sarkar’ fame actor said again, ‘This song is from the movie ‘Jungle’. Shammi Kapoor and Saira Banu are in lead roles in the film. The film’s music was composed by Shankar-Jaikishan and lyrics were penned by lyricist Shailendra. The actor further said that the song you hear in ‘Yahoo’ is not sung by Rafi. I mean, he sang the song, but when the song was recorded, ‘Yahoo’ was sung by Prayag Raj. Prayag Raj is a writer. He has written for many of my films and also sung many songs. Amitabh said, ‘Even in the film ‘Coolie’, it was Prayag Raj who named my pet eagle ‘Alla Rakha’. ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’ airs on Sony.
