Dinesh Chandimal scored a half century in 22 balls. Kusal Mendis scored a 25-ball fifty in the ongoing tournament against South Africa. Kusal Perera was dismissed for 51 runs off 28 balls. Kusal Perera achieved another big achievement in his name. He broke the 16-year-old record set against New Zealand. Perera now has the fastest half-century against New Zealand in a World Cup, previously held by Canada’s John Davies in 23 balls against New Zealand in the 2007 edition at Gros Islet. The Sri Lankan team has lost 6 matches in the World Cup 2023 and is out of the race for the semi-finals.
