Mumbai: In the year 2005, Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Hazaron Khawashin Aisi’ was released, which was a huge hit. The film did not do well at the box office, but received much acclaim on the international stage. Three actors started their career with this film. KK Menon, Chitrangada Singh and Shiney Ahuja were the stars who started their careers with ‘Hazaron Khwaishe Aisi’ and Shiney benefited the most from it. In no time, Shinya had a queue of films. Received all awards like IIFA, Zee Cine, Filmfare. But, the film that benefited Shinya the most was ‘Gangster Aur Woh Lamhe.’
Both these films of Shinee Ahuja were released in 2006, in which Kangana Ranaut was seen opposite her. While Gangster was successful, Wo Lamhe received mixed reactions. After this, Shinee was seen in films like Zindagi Rocks, Life in a Metro, Bhoola Bhulaiyya and Khoya-Khoya Chand. SHINee’s stars were at their peak, when a news broke that put an abrupt brake on her career momentum. In 2009, Shiney was arrested by the Mumbai police.

The matter went to court and shortly after the charges against Shai were dropped. But, the Bombay High Court held that the victim was coerced into withdrawing her allegations and in 2011, Shinee was convicted and the actor had to go to jail even after withdrawing the charges. The actor appealed against it and fought a long legal battle. Meanwhile, in 2012, Shiney again tried to make her Bollywood debut with Ghost, but the film did not do well at the box office.

After the upheavals in his life and the damage it caused to his professional life, Shaini gradually disappeared from the limelight and eventually drifted away from the film world. Shiney married Anupam Ahuja in 1997, with whom she has a daughter, Arshiya Ahuja. The actor lives in Mumbai with his family, but has not been seen in any films or TV shows for the past eight years.
